"While Greece is primarily a mountainous country, its mountains have been largely abandoned in recent decades, with significant consequences for the natural environment and the quality of life for all of us. We explore the abandonment of Greece’s mountains, focusing on Zagorochoria, one of the most popular tourist destinations. However, it has very few permanent residents and has lost its farmers, producers, loggers, and beekeepers—those who once maintained and protected the forests and mountains. We also meet the few young people who have returned to preserve mountain culture."
